Helping Postpartum Mothers Feel Like Themselves Again... since 2005

Are you pregnant, or have you had a baby within the past year, and feel as if you just aren’t “feeling like yourself”?  If so, you are not alone.  Up to 25% of postpartum women, as well as women who are pregnant, struggle with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, or “PMADs”.  While these illnesses can have a significant impact on a woman’s life, the good news is, they are treatable.  And if you’re reading this, it may be that you’re taking the first step in your recovery. Since 2005, I have specialized in treating women with pregnancy and postpartum anxiety, depression and OCD.  Psychotherapy, in particular Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is an evidence based approach which has been shown to be efficacious in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders. Identification and utilization of support networks, implementing a plan for self care, as well as the use of medical intervention, are other areas to consider in the healing process.  With treatment, the pregnant or postpartum woman can recover.  If you’re ready to take the first step, don’t hesitate to contact me at (949) 246-5062, or email me below.
