About

My journey into the therapy field began when I attended UC Santa Barbara, where I majored in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Psychopathology.  As an undergraduate, I worked in a Day Treatment Center for mentally ill adults, as this was my initial interest in the field.  I attended USC for a period of time after my undergraduate work, (with the intent to pursue a Social Work degree), where I also worked in a secured facility for the mentally ill in El Monte, CA.  Ultimately, I realized clinical psychology was my primary interest-  and so I chose to attend Pepperdine University, where I graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology.  While gaining hours for licensure, I worked predominantly with at-risk children and families in Orange and LA counties.  Since 2003, my focus has been in helping pregnant and postpartum women recover from PMAD’s (postpartum mood and anxiety disorders) in private practice.  I was trained by Postpartum Support International (PSI), and have specialized in the treatment of PMAD’s since that time.   I served as PSI’s Orange County Coordinator, offering support and connecting women to community resources, from 2005-2017.

In 2017, I helped develop Hoag Hospital’s Maternal Mental Health program, where I served as Lead Therapist. I was trained by the Beck Institute in 2018 in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders, and utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques with my clients- which have shown to be evidence based treatments for depression, anxiety, and other mental health diagnoses.
